Jerry Wingren's Resting Stones draw on the artist's belief that "the harder the stone, the harder the sculpture needs to push." Utilizing Swedish black granite, Wingren created a series of stones that "push back from within, releasing a heightened energy." Grouped together, the stones present a power that draws its strength from a sense of elegant calm.
More information may be found on Wingren's website. Please contact the gallery to inquire about purchase.
Coupled with the Resting Stones, local artist Ethan Jackson will present Echo Pool, an interactive video installation that reflects viewers' movements and the sounds they make. A live mirror-like image will fill the back wall of the gallery, reflecting the occupants of the space in a liquid, rippling surface, continually agitated by the sounds they make. At night, the image will be visible from the street and respond to sounds at the windows.
