Joe Bartholomew develops programs to create projects that include digital prints, paintings on canvas, and video animation. Extending existing systems, Bartholomew bases his images on generalizations or modifications of the golden rectangle, tilings, and grids. He uses translations and rotations to repeat unit objects throughout his work. Rather than render images manually, Bartholomew prefers to write his own programs. The result is a series of vivid color images translated from mathematical language.
